El Indio was established in 1992; in the heart of Gainesville, Florida. Today it is known as one of Gainesville’s staple restaurants. El Indio was designed to make you feel like you’ve taken a trip to Mexico without setting a foot outside of the community. We use only fresh ingredients to ensure the quality of our food. Our bold flavors are also provided at a very affordable price. Guests can always expect excellent and fast customer service. Our meals are accessible to every type of food enthusiast; such as, vegetarian, vegan, meat, and fish lovers alike!
El Indio translates in Spanish to “The Indian”.. All the food in both locations is made fresh on a daily basis. No canned or frozen guacamole is ever used. Everything is made from scratch. All salsas are made fresh everyday. No canned chicken or beef is ever used. Meats are cooked everyday and the taquitos are also rolled daily. This is why our food doesn’t taste like fast food, because it’s not. It is just served in a fast-food setting.
